Every February the interweb is filled with tributes to J Dilla and of course there is Dre Day, Feb 18th.
However when March rolls in everyone seems to forget that March is the month of the born day, March 21, of the greatest producer in Hip Hop, DJ Premier.
With this month’s reworks I decided to take samples used by Dj Premier and rework them into into new “creations”.
Unlike others who would use the most famous used sample by Premo I used a sample from Premo Beats That Collected Dust series, Shy Role. along with clsssic tracks like Golden Chyld by Ras Kass, The Lah by Bumpy Knuckles and the little known track Counterpunch by Big Shug.
Also I tried to use artists who don’t have history working with DJ Premier.
