I previously mentioned, (Here), that I was considering paying homage to Ashely’s Roachclip, a 1974 hit song by the Soul Searchers, that is among the most sampled tracks in Hip Hop. As it happens, the more I considered it, the more I decided to create my own remixes.
The majority of the remixes just include a reworked version of the well-known drum loop from Ashley’s Roachclip. However the last remix, Defari’s Smack ya Face, contains reworked drums and guitar samples from Ashley’s Roachclip.
Overall, I think it came together quite well.
I’m currently working on a second set of remixes with another well-known sample. By next month, that project should be completed. Until then enjoy this month’s remixes.
